(Media-Newswire.com) - The Greater London Authority has been rated one of Britain's Top Employers for the second year running. ‘Britain’s Top Employers 2008’ highlights best examples of Human Resource management and is published in conjunction with the Corporate Research Foundation, a panel of business journalists, analysts, trade associations and international publishers.

The panel judges employers across the United Kingdom on a range of categories such as pay and benefits, promotion and development of staff, innovation, diversity and their environmental record.

The publication says it, 'offers incisive and compelling insights into some of the smartest, most forward-thinking companies in the country. Based on interviews with a shortlist of the best firms, covering a wide cross-section of industry and business sectors, these profiles are said to illustrate what makes a top employer'.

The Greater London Authority was selected for inclusion in the prestigious list of 77 organisations from a shortlist of almost 2000 employers and was particularly noted for scoring high in respect of Diversity and Environmental Sustainability.

Greater London Authority Chief Executive, Anthony Mayer, said:

‘It is great news that the Greater London Authority has been recognised for the second year running as one of the best organisations in the UK to work for. I am especially pleased that the Authority has been particularly noted for its efforts to encourage diversity in its workforce as this is one of the key values of the Authority – to have a workforce which reflects the diverse communities in London.

‘We will continue to work with our employees to develop our staff and our working practices to make the Greater London Authority an even better place to work.’
