(Media-Newswire.com) - Stage 3 of Wallan Secondary College has been given the green light with the Brumby Government announcing funding of $8 million for the project in this year’s State Budget.
Visiting the school today, Education Minister Bronwyn Pike said education remains the Government’s number 1 priority, that’s why the Brumby Labor Government is taking action - rebuilding every school in every community across Victoria.
“While we are still working through the scope of works in stage 3, it is likely to include classrooms, science technology and physical education spaces and a library,” Ms Pike said.
“Wallan Secondary College students deserve to go to a school with modern facilities where they can learn to their full potential.”
Ms Pike said Wallan was one of four schools funded in the Budget to be extended in Melbourne’s outer growth areas.
“This is a fantastic result for the local community and demonstrates the Brumby Government’s commitment to set a standard of excellence across the education system to ensure all children get the best start in life,” said local member Ben Hardman.
