The WRHU news department, Long Island’s oldest and largest, placed first in the Region 1 category and received the title of best overall radio newscast for its news program, Newsline.
“This award is so special because no one reporter gained recognition, but rather it was a collaborative effort from every staff member, ranging from our managers to our newest reporters,” says WRHU News Director Samantha Manning, a junior at Hofstra. “The award represents our progress, our success, and our thorough understanding of broadcast journalism.”
WRHU is Long Island’s oldest non-commercial radio station, broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 88.7FM and online at www.wrhu.org.
