The Purdue Boilermakers beat Texas A&M 63-61 on Sunday to advance to the next round. Chris Kramer finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and 3 steals. E’Twaun Moore kept the Boilermakers in the game early and finished with 15, while JaJuan Johnson netted 11 points. Texas A&M outrebounded Purdue 40-30, and shot more free throws than the Boilermakers 17-6, but Purdue’s stingy defense limited the Aggies to 23-65 ( 35.4% ) from the field. Brian Davis was a force inside for Texas A&M, finishing with 17 points and 15 rebounds, but he missed a shot under the basket with 10 seconds to go in overtime, setting up Kramer’s heroics. Aggies’ leading scorer Donald Sloan was held to 11 points on 4-17 shooting.

Kentucky beat Wake Forest 90-60 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen bracket tournament game. Kentucky had four players score 13 or more points as they raced past Wake Forest and into the Sweet 16. Kentucky’s talent was obvious from the start as they jumped to a 44-28 halftime lead on the strength of 16 points from sophomore Darius Miller. Miller finished with 20, while the Wildcats’ highly-touted freshman got into the act too, with DeMarcus Cousins scoring 19 points, John Wall, 14, and Eric Bledsoe, 13. Cousins led a dominating inside attack for Kentucky, going 9-10 from the field and grabing eight rebounds. On the night, the Wildcats scored 52 points in the paint and outrebounded the Demon Deacons by eight, 42-34.
