Upcoming webinars help farmers grow their safety and health programs
In early 2011 the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that it was working on a local emphasis program (LEP) for inspecting Wisconsin dairy farms. The Dairy Farm LEP was signed at the end of October 2011.
(Media-Newswire.com) - In early 2011 the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ( OSHA ) announced that it was working on a local emphasis program ( LEP ) for inspecting Wisconsin dairy farms. The Dairy Farm LEP was signed at the end of October 2011.
Dairy farmers who would like to hear the results of OSHA inspections on dairy farms and learn about changes to the LEP for year 2 are encouraged to participate in a webinar scheduled for Dec. 6 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
The webinar will be led by Mary Bauer, Compliance Assistance Specialist, OSHA Eau Claire Area Office. She will discuss the types of citations that were issued and changes to the LEP for 2012-2013.
On Dec. 13, a second webinar will be held to review the basics of OSHA recordkeeping requirements. This webinar will cover OSHA 1904 Recordkeeping and Reporting of Injuries standard, including forms 300 and 300A. It will focus in on those parts of the regulations related to agricultural operations. Example cases will be shared to help participants relate the types of injuries that they may experience in the production agricultural workplace.
There are two options for participating in either webinar:
– From your local UW-Extension office or other coordinated site: We will work with UW-Extension offices and other partners to find a site convenient for you to participate.
