(Media-Newswire.com) - WILBURTON, OK ( Nov. 14, 2012 ) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s new student housing project was recently honored by the Oklahoma Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors ( ABC ) at the organization’s annual awards banquet.
Oakridge Builders received an Excellence in Construction Award in the Institutional $1-2 million category for Eastern’s Regents Court Apartments. The $1.5 million apartment-style housing project was completed in July and students began moving in for the fall semester in August.
The complex includes four, two-story buildings that feature a unique design for college and university residence housing. Each unit includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a common living area and kitchenette. The layout allows students to enjoy their own private bedroom and bathroom, while maintaining a sense of community with the shared living areas.
The ABC Oklahoma Chapter recognized 24 companies in 46 categories. The winners are eligible to participate in the organization’s national Excellence in Construction competition early next year. ABC is a national association with 75 chapters representing more than 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with nearly two million members.
