(Media-Newswire.com) - Mumbai: Tata Housing Development Company ( Tata Housing ), India’s fastest growing real estate developer, had initiated a unique drive this Christmas to spread joy amongst hundreds of underprivileged children through its initiative – White Santa Loves Red.
Tata Housing’s White Santa gave everyone an opportunity to become Santa for underprivileged children by donating gifts in the form of cash / cheque / kind. All the proceeds of the campaign will go to Plan India, an NGO working to improve the lives of disadvantaged children, their families and communities.
The White Santa Claus is a unique concept by Tata housing that signifies hope. He aspires to be the red Santa Claus of happiness and joy for the poor and disadvantaged children in India. The White Santa gives everyone an opportunity to become Santa themselves, by donating gifts. The more he is able to spread joy and happiness through the donation received, the more the Santa becomes red.
Rajeeb Dash, head, marketing, Tata Housing, said, “We are overwhelmed with the number of enthusiastic participants who turned up to support our cause for underprivileged children. Christmas is a festival of hope and joy and through this consumer engaging initiative we made this Christmas merrier for the children who could not celebrate this festival. This is the second year in a row that Tata Housing has come up with this initiative to help bring Christmas joy and cheer to hundreds of poor children across India.”
The campaign was promoted by Candid Marketing in various malls across Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai and even online through various social networks. More than 5,000 people participated in the offline donation drive, while on Facebook over 15,000 new followers joined Tata Housing’s page ( www.facebook.com/tatahousing ) to spread the message across the social network. On Twitter, over 5,000 tweets on the activity were sent out by people to show their support to the initiative.
A parent of a White Santa participant said, “White Santa is a unique initiative by Tata Housing and has given us the opportunity to spend some time with our children and spread the festive cheer and teach them about the joy of giving.”
