Kentucky State Parks Names New Manager at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park
FRANKFORT, Ky. th Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker announced today that Barry Barenfanger is the new manager at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park in Jamestown.
(Media-Newswire.com) - FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker announced today that Barry Barenfanger is the new manager at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park in Jamestown.
Barenfanger has 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and parks. He comes from the Indiana State Park Inns and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, where he served as the general manager of the Potawatomi Inn Resort and Conference Center in Pokagon State Park, Ind.
A graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a degree in hospitality and business administration, his career began as a general manger with Marriott in Branson, Mo. He has managed a full service Holiday Inn and served as a hotel and restaurant district manager.
Barenfanger is an Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He began Dec. 16.
Lake Cumberland State Resort Park near Jamestown has a lodge, cottages, Rowena Landing Restaurant, disc golf course, indoor pool and hot tub, gift shop, fishing, picnic areas and hiking trails. Lake Cumberland State Resort is 45 miles west of Somerset.
The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 49 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia. The Department of Parks, an agency of the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, operates 17 resort parks with lodges -- more than any other state.
