(Media-Newswire.com) - MacMurray College is providing a outlet Saturday for a fundraising event to benefit the Jacksonville High School Bowl.
Leahy and Kolby Hoffman are raising money in memory of their father, the late Bobby Hoffman, to help the Jacksonville High School Bowl build a new floor. The family began Leah’s Lemonade and Kolby’s Cookies and serve them at the JHS boys’ basketball home games.
Mr. Hoffman’s daughters are moving their stand to MacMurray on Saturday. Leah’s Lemonade and Kolby’s Cookies will be at the MacMurray men’s and women’s basketball games on Saturday, Jan. 12, to raise money to restore the JHS Bowl. They will set up at 12:45 p.m. The women’s game begins at 1 p.m. and the men’s game begins at 3 p.m.
Bobby Hoffman diedSeptember 14, 2012. He was a 1989 Jacksonville High School graduate and a member of the JHS band, basketball and track teams. He played basketball and graduated from Lakeland Community College, in Mattoon, IL.
An enthusiastic fan of JHS sports, Hoffman was a founding member of the Preservation of the Bowl Committee. He looked forward to raising money to preserve The Bowl, and most importantly to see that a new floor be installed to replace the 40-year-old floor there now, where he expected one day his daughters might be cheerleaders or J’ettes.
Donations to Leah’s Lemonade and Kolby’s Cookies go to the Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation’s Preservation a 501( c )3 organization, for The Bowl Fund.
