(Media-Newswire.com) - Students were back on the campuses of Mohave Community College on Monday, Jan. 14, with the start of spring semester; but those who weren’t able to register in time for the 15-week semester still have time to sign up for 12-week courses, which begin Feb. 4.
“We are so excited for the start of the spring semester,” said Sarah Farrand, a surgical technology student on the Lake Havasu City campus. “Today makes us one step closer to graduation.”
MCC’s academic offerings include associate degree programs, professional certificate programs and personal enrichment classes for people of all ages.
“Mohave Community College offers an array of classes and times to satisfy the diverse lives and interests of its students,” said Jill Loveless, MCC’s Dean of Instruction; “and the Extended Campus ( distance learning ) makes it even easier by offering certificates and degrees entirely online.
“The spring schedule includes courses that will appeal to working adults, traditional age college students and to those who have already retired and want to learn something new or refresh their knowledge of subjects that may be rusty,” Loveless added.
The college encourages business professionals to review the Spring 2013 schedule to find 12-week classes to strengthen their current careers and skill sets. Spring course offerings include accounting, marketing, business communications, managing and supervising techniques, web design and classes that teach students how to use Microsoft-based programs.
Business owners throughout Mohave County also can tailor employee training with programs offered by MCC’s Corporate Outreach or they can receive free business counseling through the college’s Small Business Development Center.
“Corporate Outreach can customize workshops to fit the training needs of small business owners and our larger corporations in the Tri-State area,” said Brandon Warner, rural and corporate specialist with the Extended Campus. “A pre-training assessment can help target what workshops would best suit the business, from team-building to customer service or sales and marketing.”
Interested students should begin the enrollment process soon to give them the best opportunity to get the classes they need at the times that best fit their schedules. Students also have until Tuesday, Jan. 22 to take advantage of MCC’s four-month payment plan. After Jan. 22, MCC will have a three-month payment plan available, which will slightly increase the down payment needed and the subsequent monthly payments.
Information about MCC’s academic programs, class schedules and admissions process can be found at www.mohave.edu. Students also can call MCC Connect at 866-664-2832 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. seven days a week for assistance.
