(Media-Newswire.com) - The Six Nations Council and The Royal Bank of Scotland Group have agreed a four-year extension of their existing partnership that will see RBS remain as the tournament’s title sponsor until 2017.
RBS has been title sponsor of the RBS 6 Nations Championship since 2003. During this period, the Championship has grown to become the world’s best attended rugby event. The Championship’s matches are also broadcast on television in more than 160 countries around the world and viewing figures have increased by over 30% in the last decade.
The global profile of the Championship means that it provides a cost effective way to promote RBS and engage with our customers, clients and staff. It also gives us a unique opportunity to give back to these groups.
The RBS 6 Nations sponsorship also allows us to credibly deliver RugbyForce, our community initiative that helps local rugby clubs to build for their future. RugbyForce has helped more than 1,000 clubs across the UK and Ireland since its inception in 2009.
From a team of 80 people volunteering at their local rugby club, to eight million fans watching an RBS 6 Nations match on television, our support for rugby helps us to build a better future for our customers, our business, and the communities where we operate.
