(Media-Newswire.com) - RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles’ mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, will be in downtown Richmond Monday, January 28 through Friday, February 1 offering convenient service for Virginia legislators, state employees and other customers.
DMV 2 Go will be open for business from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. across from the General Assembly building at 200 North Ninth Street. The handicapped-accessible full service office provides all DMV transactions.
"DMV 2 Go made its inaugural outing two years ago at the General Assembly building, and we are excited to once again be able to offer service for an entire week during session," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "Over the past two years, we have served the busy downtown community, legislators, lobbyists and those employed nearby. We know that many of these folks are often away from home and extremely busy during session, so we are happy to offer them a convenient time and place to conduct their DMV business."
Last year, nearly 300 Virginians received assistance during the week-long event at the General Assembly including Lt. Governor Bill Bolling and Senator John Watkins, who renewed their driver’s licenses.
DMV staff members will also be in the lobby of the General Assembly building throughout the week to answer questions, educate customers about a variety of services, and help people sign up for e-notifications and download the VirginiaDMV mobile app.
Customers are encouraged to research and bring the proper documents to complete their transactions by using the interactive document guide at www.dmvNOW.com.
DMV 2 Go provides service throughout the year at the General Assembly building on the fourth Tuesday of every month. For more details, scheduling information, and a calendar of upcoming locations visit www.dmvNOW.com/DMV2GO. To connect with DMV 2 Go on Twitter, use @VirginiaDMV or #DMV2Go.
