This year’s symposium includes three days of workshops, plenary discussions and networking opportunities. The informal format of DGIS VIII encourages dangerous goods instructors to share experiences, knowledge and techniques. The goal is improving and enhancing day-to-day dangerous goods management operations, on-the-job performance and workplace safety.
DGIS VIII will examine the realities of regulatory training by addressing some of today’s most pressing questions, such as: Is compliance with regulations enough to achieve an acceptable level of safety Can instructor experience drive the development of more effective regulation? How can the training experience be made more relevant, current and cost-effective? The symposium will take place at The Seelbach Hilton beginning Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. ET, and conclude on Friday, Aug. 23, at noon ET.
