York County, PA Quick Response Team Expands Its DragonForce Deployment
York QRT adopts the DragonForce software platform to enhance response capabilities for its tactical teams and emergency response operations
(Media-Newswire.com) - Glenside, PA, September 24, 2013 -- Drakontas LLC announced today that York County, Pennsylvania’s QRT ( Quick Response Team ) has continued and expanded its license of the DragonForce software platform.
“We built DragonForce to help teams of mobile users create and share information rapidly and accurately,” explained James Sim, Drakontas’ President and Co-Founder. “We are extremely proud that York County’s QRT has chosen to expand its use of DragonForce to support their critical operations.”
DragonForce empowers teams to create and share information in real time: personnel tracking, instant messaging, collaborative whiteboarding, photo and document sharing, reporting, and more. Built for mobile team operations, DragonForce gives teams like those operating in York County, PA a common operating picture, allowing them to plan, communicate, and act more quickly, safely, and effectively. DragonForce runs on iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones and laptop browsers, making it easy and inexpensive to deploy.
Sgt. Craig Losty, Tactical Commander of the York County QRT, commented, “I have been in SWAT operations for the past eighteen years, having been the Tactical Commander of a forty man team for the past eight years, and I can say without reservation that the DragonForce application has been the best product we have ever purchased for the team. For a Commander to be able to get intelligence information to his tactical members and negotiators in mere seconds instead of minutes is worth every penny. No longer do critical decisions have to be delayed due to information waiting to be received by snipers or entry officers in the field.”
Recent events, such as the Washington, DC Navy Yard shooting, have demonstrated the importance of speed to response and better coordination during complex emergencies. Many jurisdictions are looking for new and cost-effective solutions to enhance their communications and information-sharing capabilities in response to these challenges. DragonForce has been developed to serve this need, and is based on years of research and development by the Drakontas team, working jointly with the public safety community.
