According to Frost & Sullivan, AirWatch is the largest MDM vendor with the leading position in the Australian market, which grew by more than 95 percent in 2013. The award also highlights that AirWatch, now a part of VMware, has expanded its solution in the region and can integrate with a broader portfolio of products within the VMware product portfolio. Frost & Sullivan also notes that the entry of VMware into the market, by way of the AirWatch acquisition, alters the traditional field of smaller, specialised MDM vendors in Australia.
“AirWatch continues to build on its strong foundation in Australia,” said Anand Balasubramanian, senior industry analyst, ICT Practice, ANZ, Frost & Sullivan. “The company has been consistently recording very high growth rates in recent years. An increase in the number of large-scale deployments, combined with an overall increase in its customer base, was the main reason for its strong performance in 2013. Another key factor for AirWatch’s performance is the strength of its channel partner network in Australia, which enables it to address the enterprise mobility requirements of a wide range of organisations. These factors also give AirWatch a strong presence across most major vertical markets including banking, financial services and insurance, government and healthcare.”
“Australia is a key market and opportunity for AirWatch and our commitment to the region is demonstrated with the award as MDM Vendor of the Year for the second consecutive year,” said Rob Roe, managing director, Australia and New Zealand, AirWatch by VMware. “We’re honored that Frost & Sullivan recognizes our complex, diverse deployments and strong partner network, and together with VMware will continue our trajectory as the leading MDM solution in Australia.”
