High scores in newly published research rankings for Marketing
The Department of Marketing of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management is ranked 4th in a worldwide ranking of research productivity, based on the number of publications in four prestigious American marketing journals
(Media-Newswire.com) - The Department of Marketing of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management is ranked 4th in a worldwide ranking of research productivity, based on the number of publications in four prestigious American marketing journals: Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research and Marketing Science. Tilburg University researchers published 50 articles between 2010 and 2014, leaving behind colleagues from various renowned American universities.
Among European universities and business schools, the Department of Marketing comes first in the same ranking, before the Rotterdam School of Management ( RSM ) as second highest European school in 25th place ( source: UTD Top 100 Business School Research RankingsTM ).
AuthorsIn a ranking of author productivity in the same marketing journals, four professors of the Department of Marketing made it into the top 50: Rik Pieters in 3rd place, Marnik Dekimpe in 19th and Bart Bronnenberg as well as Els Gijsbrechts in 48th ( source: American Marketing Association ).
“These great results, however, mostly are the result of a broad focus on top research within our Marketing department”, states Head of Department Marnik Dekimpe. “Over 15 members of our department coauthored one of the fifty aforementioned top journals. Among them are not only senior faculty, but also junior faculty and PhD students. This performance is a real group effort”.
Dutch top 40 ranking economistsThe marketing professors also scored high in the recently published economists’ ranking of the ESB journal. Bart Bronnenberg was placed 6th, Rik Pieters 11th and Marnik Dekimpe 30st ( source: Economisch Statistische Berichten ).
PhD studentsMany PhD students of the Department of Marketing have been offered excellent positions after their defense. Between 2010 and 2014, a number of them continued their scientific careers in the United States ( University of Rochester, Penn State University ), Europe ( Cologne, Leuven, Rotterdam, etc. ) and Australia ( University of South Australia ).
