Ave Law Library Director, Ulysses Jaen, Elected To The Southwest Florida Library Network Board Of Directors
Mr. Ulysses N. Jaen, Professor of Law and Director of the Library at Ave Maria School of Law, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Southwest Florida Library Network (SWFLN).
(Media-Newswire.com) - Naples, Fla., ( June 17, 2016 ) — Mr. Ulysses N. Jaen, Director of the Law Library and Professor of Law at Ave Maria School of Law, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Southwest Florida Library Network ( SWFLN ). Mr. Jaen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s in Public Administration, a Master’s in Library and Information Science and the Juris Doctorate degree. He currently teaches Advanced Legal Research, Immigration Law and Elder Law and he also facilitates the Continuing Legal Education offerings for the school.
Ulysses N. Jaen joined the law school on August 1, 2012 after serving as Head of Access Services for the West Virginia University College of Law in Morgantown, West Virginia and working there since 2005. He also worked for the Law Offices of Hamstead, Williams & Shook from 2009 to 2012 and for Angotti & Straface from 2006 to 2009. In addition, he served as a Court Appointed Mediator and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children. Mr. Jaen was the chair of the Diversity Committee and the Latino Caucus of the American Association of Law Libraries.
The Ave Maria School of Law Library is located in the Vineyards in Naples and contains an abundant collection of legal materials serving Southwest Florida. It provides access to first rate legal information to not only its students but, also to judges, law firms, educators and the public at large. The law library maintains the most practical Florida law materials in the region and attorneys rely on its document delivery services to better assist their clients. The law library also partners with several local charitable organizations to help those in need of legal assistance.
The Southwest Florida Library Network serves Lee, Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, and Monroe counties by facilitating resource sharing within the service area, providing ground delivery for interlibrary loan of materials, advocating for library funding, and providing a premier training venue for library personnel in Southwest Florida, among other services for local academic, public, school, and special libraries.
