Students at the University of Bath are being encouraged to ‘Switch it off, Turn it down, Keep it closed’ as part of a week of events to raise awareness about simple ways to be more environmentally friendly. The Green Week will run from 27 November to 1 December.
(Media-Newswire.com) - "This is the first time we’ve run a Green Week on campus,” said Chris Weiss, who has helped organise the week. “The aim is to encourage students to think about reducing, re-using and recycling their waste, and reducing their utility usage on and off campus.”
There will be a road show on campus all week which will host visits from The Centre for Sustainable Energy, B&NES Council Waste Team, and local environmental centres including Envolve and BTCV Avon.
Information will be available on Fairtrade products and the Organic Farmers Initiative, and there will be competitions and give-aways throughout the week.
Green Week is a joint initiative between Accommodation & Hospitality Services, Estates and the Students' Union. The roadshow will be held on campus in the Wessex House Foyer and the library between 10am and 4pm daily.
