LG Electronics Receives Second Consecutive 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award for Subscriber Technology Innovation
LG Electronics, a worldwide technology leader in mobile communications, today received another 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award in the area of Subscriber Technology Innovation.
(Media-Newswire.com) - This marks the second year a row that LG has received this award for its mobile phone products.
The 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award was begun eight years ago by the CDMA Development Group ( CDG ), and is awarded to companies and individuals for excellence in deploying 3G CDMA networks, products and services.
In particular, the Subscriber Technology Innovation award is given to companies that demonstrate progressive thinking in terms of new and innovative services and terminal design.
The resulting products and services take advantage of the inherent benefits and latest technological developments of 3G CDMA, offering consumers state-of-the-art terminals in terms of both features and packaging.
"We are very impressed by the innovative features and unique design of LG's CDMA Chocolate Phone ( LG-VX8500 )," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG, "We expect LG to continue design cutting-edge devices that contribute significantly to the growth of the 3G CDMA2000® market in the U.S. and worldwide."
Through Verizon Wireless, LG launched the Chocolate Phone in the U.S. this July, and over two million of the popular handsets have been sold in just four months’ time.
The Chocolate Phone was created with design in mind – focusing not just on looks but also on other sensorial aspects.
The Chocolate Phone was carefully designed to offer users a tactile experience as well, setting a new standard in mobile phone design with its sleek minimalist look, glossy black finish, light-up touch keypad and fade-away LCD screen.
“In receiving the award for two consecutive years, LG reaffirms its leadership in the global handset market,” said Mun Hwa Park, President & CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
“We will continue to develop our 3G technology as well as our premium product, the Chocolate Phone, to continue to widen its appeal.”
