Fugitive from Boston arrested at Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington International Airport
Mr. Lopes was taken into custody today without incident when he arrived at Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington International Airport aboard American Airlines flight 1036, at 2:35pm. He was arrested on a federal warrant issued on March 25, 1996 in the District of Massachusetts charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
(Media-Newswire.com) - Special Agent in Charge ( SAC ) William D. Chase, of the Baltimore Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) announced today the arrest of Boston Fugitive ARNALDO LOPES, age 28.
Mr. Lopes was taken into custody today without incident when he arrived at Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington International Airport aboard American Airlines flight 1036, at 2:35pm. He was arrested on a federal warrant issued on March 25, 1996 in the District of Massachusetts charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Mr. Lopes was wanted for his alleged involvement in the death of a man in Boston, Massachusetts. On October 10, 1995, he allegedly assaulted, beat, and stabbed a man to death.
Assisting the FBI in this arrest were Boston Police Department, Boston Housing Authority, Prince Georges's County Police Department and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. This joint effort demonstrates the high level of cooperation that exists between Federal, State, and Local law enforcement authorities.
