“Rajmohan Gandhi is a key figure in our understanding of Gandhi's legacy for contemporary political life, combining scholarly expertise with journalism and activist experience to provide us with rich, insightful and novel ways to interpret the Mahatma’s life and works,” said Farah Godrej, assistant professor of political science.
Rajmohan Gandhi was also present at the dedication of the Gandhi statue on Mission Inn Avenue in 2005, Godrej noted.
“His visit to UCR symbolizes the important and continuing synergy between the city of Riverside’s desire to honor Gandhi and the campus’ commitment to the furthering of the study of Gandhi’s life and legacy,” she said.

Other speakers in the series will include a monk from the Deer Park Buddhist monastery in Escondido and Inland peace activists.
The event is free, but there is a fee for parking.
