(Media-Newswire.com) - Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer ( D-Calif. ), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today made the following remarks following House passage of H.R. 1195, the SAFETEA-LU Technical Corrections Act of 2008, this evening. The Senate passed the bill on April 17. The legislation next goes to the President for his signature: Senator Boxer said: "I am very pleased that the House has passed the Highway Technical Corrections bill, which will unleash up to a billion dollars for critical highway and infrastructure projects, and will create tens of thousands of jobs. I urge President Bush to sign this important bill without delay, so that states, counties and communities across this nation can get to work on the transportation infrastructure that keeps our economy moving."
