NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - JULIO FRANK ESCORCIA, age 56, a Mexican national residing on Palmyra Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman to six (6) months imprisonment for maliciously conveying false information and illegal reentry after deportation, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition, Judge Feldman ordered that defendant be deported to Mexico.
(Media-Newswire.com) - NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - JULIO FRANK ESCORCIA, age 56, a Mexican national residing on Palmyra Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman to six ( 6 ) months imprisonment for maliciously conveying false information and illegal reentry after deportation, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition, Judge Feldman ordered that defendant be deported to Mexico.
According to court documents, on February 28, 2008, ESCORCIA pled guilty as charged in the indictment. According to the indictment, on December 2, 2007, ESCORCIA, an illegal alien who had previously been removed from the United States, was unlawfully found in Kenner, Louisiana without having obtained the consent of the appropriate government authority to reenter the United States. On that same date, ESCORCIA was arrested by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Kenner Police Department after it was determined that ESCORCIA called 911 and maliciously conveyed false information concerning an alleged attempt to unlawfully damage or destroy an airport, by means of explosives.
The sentence imposed by the Court was within the recommended guidelines range.
