Georgetown Hosts Summit on Post-Secondary Success with Cristo Rey Network
Leaders from throughout the Cristo Rey Network-a national association of high schools that provide Catholic, college preparatory education to urban young people who live in communities with limited educational options-will meet with leaders from a dozen colleges and universities to discuss how they can work together to ensure post-secondary success for Cristo Rey students.
(Media-Newswire.com) - Leaders from throughout the Cristo Rey Network—a national association of high schools that provide Catholic, college preparatory education to urban young people who live in communities with limited educational options—will meet with leaders from a dozen colleges and universities to discuss how they can work together to ensure post-secondary success for Cristo Rey students.
Participating colleges and universities include: Boston College, Fordham University, Georgetown University, Loras College, Marquette University, Morgan State, Santa Clara University, Seattle University, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, University of Notre Dame, University of Portland, and University of San Francisco.
WHAT: Leaders from the Cristo Rey Network and a dozen colleges and universities will gather at Georgetown University on Wednesday, July 9, for the "Summit on Post-Secondary Success for Cristo Rey Students." The summit will feature several panels on needs assessment, best practices, and proposed initiatives for supporting students as they transition from high school to college. Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia will deliver the keynote address at 12:00 p.m.
