Purdue police arrest woman for buying with reported stolen credit card
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University police arrested a Lafayette woman Monday (Aug. 11) in connection with making more than $2,000 in purchases using a credit card that had been reported stolen.
(Media-Newswire.com) - WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University police arrested a Lafayette woman Monday ( Aug. 11 ) in connection with making more than $2,000 in purchases using a credit card that had been reported stolen. Danielle Sue All, 29, 3128 Portsmouth Drive E., is charged with false informing, fraud, forgery and theft. She was taken to Tippecanoe County Jail and later released after posting a $10,000 bond.
On Aug. 5, police had taken a report from an adviser at Purdue's Alpha Gamma Delta sorority who said that her credit card had been stolen. Investigators learned that the credit card had been used at various businesses on the east and south sides of Lafayette, including Wal-Mart, McDonald's, Payless and Meijer stores, as well as a gas station. All of the purchases occurred on Aug. 5.
"Our investigators were able to view store video recordings and determine what the suspect looked like," Purdue police Lt. Fred Davis said. "Danielle All was stopped about 10:30 a.m. Monday for speeding at Stadium Ave. and University Drive, and investigators subsequently obtained a warrant to search her home where some of the fraudulently purchased items were recovered."
Forgery is a Class C felony and is punishable by up to eight years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Fraud and theft are both Class D felonies, punishable by up to three years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine. False informing is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
