(Media-Newswire.com) - Dr. David Terris, chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, has released his second book, Thyroid and Parathyroid Diseases: Medical and Surgical Management.
The book, released by medical publishing leader Thieme Inc., was written as a reference on the care of patients with thyroid and parathyroid diseases. It includes insights from experts and addresses medical and surgical treatments for benign thyroid diseases, thyroid malignancy and parathyroid diseases.
Dr. Terris, Porubsky Distinguished Professor in Otolaryngology, is internationally renowned for minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He researches innovative surgery techniques for thyroid and parathyroid disorders.
He is a member of the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery’s Endocrine Surgery, Head and Neck Oncology and Program Committees. He is on the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Terris serves on the editorial boards of Laryngoscope, Operative Techniques of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Microsurgery and Medical Science Monitor.
Dr. Terris earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a medical degree from Duke University. He came to MCG in 2002 from Stanford University, where he directed the otolaryngology/head and neck surgery residency program.
