Dec. 6 Mini Medical School offers sessions for adults, kids
The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, the UI College of Nursing, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will host concurrent Mini Medical School programs for adults and children from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Nursing Clinical Education Center at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
(Media-Newswire.com) - The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, the UI College of Nursing, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will host concurrent Mini Medical School programs for adults and children from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Nursing Clinical Education Center at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
The program for adults will focus on juvenile diabetes. The children's program will include sessions on the heart and lungs, nutrition, muscles and bones, and patient simulators used in medical and nursing education.
Participants who are relatives of individuals with type 1 diabetes may also participate in a free screening session, part of national research program called Diabetes TrialNet.
The Mini Medical School programs are free, but registration is required due to space limitations.
