UI Writers' Workshop conversations premiere on Big Ten Network Dec. 11
"Conversations from the Iowa Writers' Workshop," a new series produced by the University of Iowa Center for Media Production, will debut on the Big Ten Network Thursday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. with additional cablecasts Monday, Dec. 15 at 3 a.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 9 a.m.
(Media-Newswire.com) - "Conversations from the Iowa Writers' Workshop," a new series produced by the University of Iowa Center for Media Production, will debut on the Big Ten Network Thursday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. with additional cablecasts Monday, Dec. 15 at 3 a.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 9 a.m.
The first program, hosted by Writers' Workshop graduate and International Writing Program staff member Kecia Lynn, features workshop alumna Curtis Sittenfeld, the author of "Prep" and "American Wife."
Future programs will include Pulitzer Prize winners Michael Cunningham and Marilynne Robinson; alumnus and faculty member Ethan Canin, author of "America America"; and recent workshop guest Andre Dubus III.
The conversations will be viewable later on the Center for Media Production's YouTube site: http://www.youtube.com/uimediaproduction. Currently available on that site are a series of Big Ten Network videos about the flood of 2008, the Department of Dance's 2007 Dance Gala and the Hawkeye Marching Band.
