(Media-Newswire.com) - Teenagers in Wiltshire and BANES are being given the chance to learn animation for free as part of the University of Bath’s Creative Arts Week.
The Amazing Animation Workshop will be held at Wiltshire College in Chippenham from Monday 6 April to Thursday April 9 and run by animator David Bunting.
It’s aimed at secondary school pupils in Wiltshire and BANES in years 9,10 and 11 and is completely free.
Ann Olesen,Broadening Participation Officer for the Division for Lifelong Learning, said: "The Creative Arts Weeks are all about bringing young people through the doors of one of our partner further education colleges and getting them involved in creative activities to build their confidence and skills,
" It helps to inspire them to consider staying on in further or higher education when they leave school. We have foundation degree students working as ambassadors and they answer lots of questions about life as a student.
“They act as role models for the participants who might otherwise not have the confidence or information to think about continuing onto further or higher education."
The University of Bath has been offering its innovative and aspirational Creative Arts Weeks programme targeted at secondary school pupils in Swindon and Wiltshire since 2004.
The aim of the workshops are to provide opportunities to try new arts activities in an informal and creative atmosphere in order to boost the participants' confidence and aspirations.
