UW Bothell and CMC ICOS Announce Public/Private Agreement
BOTHELL, Wash. - The University of Washington Bothell and CMC ICOS Biologics, a company dedicated to contract development and manufacturing for the biotechnology sector, announced a public/private agreement today.
(Media-Newswire.com) - BOTHELL, Wash. - The University of Washington Bothell and CMC ICOS Biologics, a company dedicated to contract development and manufacturing for the biotechnology sector, announced a public/private agreement today.
The agreement calls for students in UW Bothell's MBA program to engage in three consulting projects for CMC ICOS. In return, CMC ICOS will give students the opportunity to develop real-time solutions to real-world challenges. "Our institution believes strongly in its community partnerships and is glad to work with CMC ICOS on this exciting venture that is sure to benefit our students," said Kenyon Chan, Chancellor of UW Bothell.
The projects students will be working on involve researching market opportunities, developing business plans and improving business processes. "We are excited about our new partnership with UW Bothell. The students we are working with are bright, experienced and engaged. We look forward to their help in tackling some critical business challenges and opportunities," said Gustavo Mahler, President of CMC ICOS Biologics.
The projects will be completed as part of the students' capstone course. The capstone serves as the final course for the MBA students and features consulting work as well as lectures by leading community business leaders including Jim Donald, former CEO of Starbucks and Blake Nordstrom, CEO of Nordstrom's.
The consulting agreement is done under the auspices of the UW Bothell Business Development Center, led by Brooks Gekler. The Center provides consulting and learning opportunities for students and strategic and tactical business support for Puget Sound companies.
