SAMHSA Accepting Applications for FY 2009 Supplements to State Mental Health Data Infrastructure Grants for Quality Improvement
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is soliciting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2009 supplements to the State Mental Health Data Infrastructure Grants for Quality Improvement program These grants are designed to expand grant activities that support mental health prevalence estimation found in state populations.
(Media-Newswire.com) - The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ( SAMHSA ) is soliciting applications for fiscal year ( FY ) 2009 supplements to the State Mental Health Data Infrastructure Grants for Quality Improvement program These grants are designed to expand grant activities that support mental health prevalence estimation found in state populations.
Grantees will provide coordination, state data analyses and information dissemination activities that can inform the state on mental health status of various populations.
SAMHSA expects that approximately $200,000 in funding will be available to award up to 16 grants for one year. The average award amount is expected to be up to $12,500 annually. The actual award amounts may vary, depending on the availability of funds. The grants will be administered by SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services ( CMHS ).
WHO CAN APPLY: Eligible applicants are recipient of a SAMHSA Mental Health Data Infrastructure grant for Quality Improvement who are concurrently funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to implement the PHQ-8 module through the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey. A state is also eligible if it implements the PHQ-8 module within the BRFSS solely with state funds. Cost sharing or matching is required.
