The event, “Longevity across the life span,” is free and open to the public, featuring experts across a broad range of disciplines. Laura Carstensen, PhD, director of the Stanford Center on Longevity, will deliver the plenary speech.
Faculty members Stuart Kim, PhD; Tom Rando, MD, PhD; Paul Wise, MD, MPH; Ralph Horwitz, MD; and John Shoven, PhD, will moderate panels discussing genetic considerations of longevity, stem cell connections to longevity, social correlates of longevity, longevity implications for the medical workforce and economic correlates of longevity. Philip Pizzo, MD, dean of the School of Medicine, will give opening and closing remarks.
The dean’s office organized the conference. The longevity center is a co-sponsor with the medical school, which is a member of the East-West Alliance, a global network of 10 universities receiving support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation.
