ITHACA, N.Y. " David Plouffe, chief campaign manager for Barack Obama’s successful 2008 presidential bid, will speak to media prior to his Convocation Address on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. in the Pennsylvania Room, Statler Hotel, Cornell University campus.
(Media-Newswire.com) - ITHACA, N.Y. – David Plouffe, chief campaign manager for Barack Obama’s successful 2008 presidential bid, will speak to media prior to his Convocation Address on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. in the Pennsylvania Room, Statler Hotel, Cornell University campus.
Plouffe ( pronounced pluff ) is a partner in the campaign consulting firm AKPD Message and Media. After winning the election on Nov. 4, Obama credited Plouffe in his acceptance speech, calling him “the unsung hero of this campaign, who built the… best political campaign in the history of the United States of America.”
Cornell’s Convocation ceremony – which starts at noon on May 23 at Schoellkopf Field – also will feature an address by Cornell Senior Class President Caroline Newton, as well as the presentation of a gift to the university from the senior class. C.J. Slicklen, the 2009 Convocation chair, will also address the seniors and their guests.
