(Media-Newswire.com) - Reston, VA, October 6, 2009—Intellitactics, a leading provider of appliances and software for enterprise security management, announced that it has completed compatibility testing in the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance ( SIA ) program to become a Technology Partner. Intellitactics SAFE is now a McAfee Compatible SIEM solution. The bi-directional integration between Intellitactics SAFE and the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator ( ePO ) platform enables customers to decrease time to problem resolution and achieve greater visibility and control over their security infrastructure. This partnership demonstrates the value of the SIA Program, which enables McAfee customers to leverage their investments in McAfee while adding complementary capabilities not found in McAfee's core offering.
Intellitactics SAFE ( SAFE™ ) collects logs from a wide range of devices and applications, correlates and analyzes events, and produces notifications for security teams and policy administrators. These notifications automatically appear in McAfee ePO dashboards and event tables. ePO administrators can either initiate remedial action through the ePO software or switch to the SAFE event management interface to perform further root cause or forensic analysis using its comprehensive profile of users, IP addresses or hosts.
“This integration was designed to provide the ePO administrator with the context to accelerate their investigation of and response to incidents without asking them to change the way they do their jobs,” explains Michael Cerick, vice president Strategic Alliances, Intellitactics.
“We’re very excited that Intellitactics is leveraging McAfee’s security risk management platform and delivering complementary capabilities to our mutual customers.,” said Ed Barry, senior director of the Security Innovation Alliance, McAfee. “SAFE’s bidirectional integration with the McAfee ePO platform software is designed to automatically send alerts with the context necessary to reduce the time to problem resolution, lower operational costs and improve compliance.”
The McAfee ePO platform is the first that lets enterprises and governments centrally manage security and compliance products from multiple vendors, offering unprecedented cost savings and return on investment. With more than 35,000 customers and managing more than 60 million PCs and servers, this unique platform is helping McAfee SIA partners to create complimentary functionality.
