(Media-Newswire.com) - Debbie Christie has started a website to help with the story of Zachary, her 6 year old son who brought in a utility knife to his school's lunch period. The boy was excited to be a member of the local Boy Scouts that he decided to bring his newly received utility tool to school where there is a zero tolerance policy on any knives.
According to a NY Times story, Zach now faces a 45 day period in reform school for the violation. Zach's mother is currently teaching the boy via home schooling while this case plays out.
The zero tolerance policy was put into place to avoid any claims of discrimination or favoritism.
