Public Lecture: Charles Rennie Mackintosh â€" the Glasgow Legacy
Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Glasgow born architect, designer and artist is celebrated around the world as one of the most creative figures of the early 20th century. Stuart Robertson, Director of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society, will give a personal view of the great Scottish architect and artist on Wednesday 21 October at the University of Bath.
(Media-Newswire.com) - Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Glasgow born architect, designer and artist is celebrated around the world as one of the most creative figures of the early 20th century.
Stuart Robertson, Director of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society, will give a personal view of the great Scottish architect and artist on Wednesday 21 October at the University of Bath.
Stuart said: “It was Mackintosh who pioneered the idea of a holistic environment. Places for people to live, to study and to work. His grasp of the effect that a building has on the human psyche was extraordinary.â€
Stuart has been director of the society since 2001. He has a varied and extensive role in promoting the society around the world.
He produces and co-edits the society’s bi-annual journal and oversees a programme for both incoming and outgoing tours for both study and general interest.
Stuart has given talks on Mackintosh all over the UK and USA. His lecture is part of the General University Lecture Programme.
