(Media-Newswire.com) - Several reports coming out of San Diego with claims of an earthquake have been debunked as just sonic booms from airplanes.
The 911 system in San Diego was flooded with calls after the loud noise was heard but no reports of an actual earthquake could be verified. The calls came in at 4 P.M. PST.
The incident was not the first time a sonic boom had caused some earthquake panic. Reports show that in 2006 the same type of sonic boom off the coast of California could have possibly caused the same panic.
No injuries have been reported in this latest incident.
