(Media-Newswire.com) - Bath Spa University, in partnership with three other universities in the region, is hosting a conference for adults with few or no qualifications who want to study for a degree.
The Annual Access to Higher Education Student Conference 2010 takes place at Bath Spa University's Newton Park campus on Friday 8 January, from 9.30am to 3pm.
The free one-day event is organised by Bath Spa University, the University of the West of England, the University of Bristol and the University of Bath, working closely with local further education colleges.
The conference is aimed specifically at learners taking a regional Access course in order to progress to university. It will provide an opportunity to meet representatives from all four universities, share experiences with other Access learners and catch up on information about student finance.
The event will be repeated, with the same programme, at the University of the West of England's Frenchay campus on Tuesday 19 January. Access learners can choose either venue, whichever is most convenient.
Access courses across the region have seen a large increase in enrolments during the economic downturn.
