(Media-Newswire.com) - Several new Nassau County Red Light Cameras have been installed in selected spots in the Long Island community. The cameras are equipped with special equipment designed to catch those who bypass red lights.
The Nassau County red light cameras have been installed across the area in hopes of gaining revenue for the county as well as to curtail cars from 'blowing' red lights which can cause accidents.
The new installs include Peninsula Boulevard and Mill Road in Hewlett as well as the intersection of Marcus Avenue and New Hyde Park Road in New Hyde Park. One other new install is located at the popular Roosevelt Field Mall.
The intersections where the equipment is installed have a signed that alerts drivers that the intersection is "Photo Enforced".
