GOVERNOR PATERSON ANNOUNCES SPECIAL ELECTIONS TO FILL ASSEMBLY VACANCIES
Governor David A. Paterson today issued a proclamation calling Special Elections to be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, to fill vacancies in New York State Assembly districts in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Westchester counties.
(Media-Newswire.com) - Governor David A. Paterson today issued a proclamation calling Special Elections to be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, to fill vacancies in New York State Assembly districts in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Westchester counties.
“These Special Elections will ensure that all New Yorkers are represented in the New York State Assembly,” Governor Paterson said. “I urge all eligible voters to go to the polls on February 9, to select their next Assembly member.”
Governor Paterson issued the Special Election Proclamation on January 5, 2010, pursuant to Section 42 of the Public Officers Law. The proclamation orders that elections for Members of the Assembly be held in the 15th, 3rd, 24th, and 89th Assembly Districts in parts of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Westchester counties and shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by law for elections in New York State.
