Announced Google Nexus One Smartphone Set to Upend IPhone
The recent announcement of the Google Nexus One Smartphone has cell phone users thrilled with the search engine company's own phone debut. The phone will be manufactured by HTC and has a host of impressive features including a top quality screen, fast processor and new Android v2.1 operating system.
(Media-Newswire.com) - The recent announcement of the Google Nexus One Smartphone has cell phone users thrilled with the search engine company's own phone debut. The phone will be manufactured by HTC and has a host of impressive features including a top quality screen, fast processor and new Android v2.1 operating system.
The new Google Nexus One Smartphone is set to take on the iPhone with a 3.7 inch screen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, 480 x 800 OLED display and a 5 megapixel camera with flash. The new unit was shown to those who attended the announcement earlier this month.
Reports from the Google Nexus One announcement confirm the phone will be available directly through a new Google smartphone marketplace to be setup for the price of $529 unlocked. This phone setup will be allowed to get service on any cellular phone carrier. A deal has been struck with T-Mobile to sell the phone for $179 with a two year agreement.
Along with T-Mobile as the primary carrier, rumors that other cell phone providers will eventually be hosting the Nexus one phone inlcuding Verizon and Vodafone. No timetable has been set for the expanded company's involvement.
