(Media-Newswire.com) - Disputes arising from the Toyota recall where claims of duplication of the acceleration issue have been made by a university professor. The Toyota recall issued last month centered around sudden acceleration issues with certain models.
A university professor has claimed to have duplicated the issue with sudden acceleration by altering the car's electronic software system. David W Gilbert from Southern Illinois University reported to Congress last month that he was able to duplicate the claims of sudden acceleration.
Toyota is looking to refute these claims by using research from the Stanford University Center for Automotive Research.
Also, reports indicate that another firm has been hired to investigate the link between the sudden acceleration and the Toyota models in question. The company, Exponent, has reported that there is no connection between the electronics of the Toyota models and the sudden acceleration problems.
