Highly seeded Villanova University was victorious in a very close game against Robert Morris University in overtime by only three points 73-70. Robert Morris University was rewarded with another chance to win when Villanova's Maurice Sutton missed his last shot with just two seconds on the clock. Villanova rallied in overtime but Robert Morris cut the lead to one point with just eleven seconds left when Karon Abraham made a key three pointer. But it wasn't enough as two free throws added by Villanova sealed the win.
Old Dominion beat Notre Dame by one point 51-50 in a wild game from New Orleans. The number 11 Old Dominion team won the game over number six seed Notre Dame when Keyon Carter made two free throws with just ten seconds left. Notre Dame's Luke Harangody scored the last four points but it was not enough to win.
Ohio stunned Georgetown by the score of 97-83 which gave the Bobcats of Ohio their first NCAA tournament win in almost 30 years. Ohio jumped out to a 48-36 halftime lead which helped them to victory.
