OAS Secretary General Meets with Honduran Foreign Minister
The Secretary General of the Organization of American States(OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today spoke with the Honduran Foreign Minister, Mario Canahuati, during a working breakfast in Washington, D.C., in which the two authorities addressed subjects related to the upcoming establishment of the Truth Commission and ultimately the return of that country to the hemispheric organization.
(Media-Newswire.com) - The Secretary General of the Organization of American States( OAS ), José Miguel Insulza, today spoke with the Honduran Foreign Minister, Mario Canahuati, during a working breakfast in Washington, D.C., in which the two authorities addressed subjects related to the upcoming establishment of the Truth Commission and ultimately the return of that country to the hemispheric organization.
In this sense, Insulza is mandated by the Permanent Council to conduct all necessary diplomatic actions to facilitate dialogue between the government of the President of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo, and the OAS, that would open the road to the full reestablishment of democracy in that Central American country.
Also present at today’s meeting was the OAS Secretary for Political Affairs, Ambassador Víctor Rico.
