(Media-Newswire.com) - The Sprint EVO 4G cell phone debuted to strong sales which have not been slowing down despite the recent announcement of the new Apple iPhone 4G HD model expected to be released on June 24. The Sprint EVO 4G is an Android based system that has cell phone users causing back ordering on the device due to high demand.
Released on June 4, the Sprint EVO 4G cell phone is manufactured by well know cell phone maker HTC. The phone is one of the first to include 4G capability but will not be available until the summer of 2010. The Sprint Evo 4G smart phone speed is expected to be up to ten times faster than comparable 3G network phones. The Sprint Evo 4G phone reports broadcast that the phone could have speeds that rival home DSL or cable users on their phone.
The phone will feature the Google developed open source Android operating system which supports thousands of custom applications.
Specifications sheets for the new phone include a 4.3 inch screen, 1 gigahertz processor, HDMI cable connection, two cameras built in with one capable of 8 megapixels, and WiFi hotspot capability.
Techies will enjoy the HDMI port giving the capability of watching high definition movies directly on the Sprint Evo 4G phone with an optional HDMI cable.
