National Sheriffs' Association expresses support for ICE criminal alien enforcement efforts
The National Sheriffs' Association, a leading national organization dedicated to raising the level of professionalism in the law enforcement field, recently adopted a resolution expressing support for two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) programs dedicated to criminal alien enforcement.
(Media-Newswire.com) - The National Sheriffs' Association, a leading national organization dedicated to raising the level of professionalism in the law enforcement field, recently adopted a resolution expressing support for two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) programs dedicated to criminal alien enforcement.
In a resolution adopted on June 29 during a meeting in Anaheim, Calif., the NSA membership affirmed their support for ICE's Secure Communities and 287( g ) programs. The resolution noted, in part, that the programs serve to "effectively and accurately identify and remove criminal aliens from the U.S." while upholding civil rights and civil liberties.
