(Media-Newswire.com) - Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Engineering Services, LLC today announced it has received a prime contract under the new U.S. Army CECOM R2-3G ( Rapid Response-3rd Generation ) contract vehicle. ARINC and 16 other bidders received notification of award July 30, following a re-compete of the popular acquisition program.
Awardees will compete for individual task orders under the R2-3G vehicle, which goes into effect January 2011, with a maximum potential value of $16.4B over a 5-year term.
ARINC’s winning proposal included a team of 25 qualified subcontractors, many of whom have worked with ARINC under task orders from the previous CR2 Rapid Response vehicle, which expires this year.
“ARINC Engineering Services is very pleased to receive this award, and we plan to offer an expanded range of C4ISR capabilities, along with our other key aerospace and defense engineering services, to all the U.S. Military and government agencies who use the Rapid Response contract,” stated Robert Moore, Senior Business Development Director, ARINC Engineering Services.
Moore continued, “As a long-time DoD contractor with our world headquarters in Maryland, ARINC welcomes the arrival of CECOM to our state this year, and we look forward to being neighbors as well as working partners.”
The highly successful CECOM Rapid Response Program streamlines government acquisition with a short 19-day competitive award process. This enables the U.S. Military and other Federal agencies to quickly and efficiently obtain engineering and manufacturing support they need from pre-qualified contractors.
The R2-3G program also provides for flexible Time and Material ( T&M ) and Firm Fixed Price ( FFP ) task orders, further simplifying the acquisition process.
Since being named on the original Rapid Response vehicle in 1998, ARINC has won a total of almost $3B in defense work. Most of these deliverables have consisted of military aircraft services, including maintenance and upgrades, which the company performs at facilities in Oklahoma City, OK, and Warner Robins, GA.
ARINC Incorporated, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, provides communications, engineering and integration solutions for commercial, defense and government customers worldwide. Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland with regional headquarters in London and Singapore, ARINC is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
