(Media-Newswire.com) - WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power, chaired by Rep. Ed Whitfield ( R-KY ), will hold a legislative hearing Wednesday, February 9, on “H.R. ___, the Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011.” The hearing on the draft legislation, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building, will provide stakeholders directly affected by the administration’s runaway regulatory policies the opportunity to address the consequences of proposed regulations on job creation and economic growth. “The Energy Tax Prevention Act” is a sensible, narrowly crafted “fix” to clarify that the Clean Air Act was never intended to be used to impose cap-and-trade by regulation.
The hearing is open to the public and press. Opening statements, witness testimony, and a live webcast will be available online at http://energycommerce.house.gov.
