(Media-Newswire.com) - The BJ Penn vs. Jon Fitch UFC 127 fight video stunned viewers as the event ended with the main match in a majority draw. While Fitch was ahead on one card 29-28, the other judges saw the three round MMA bout as 28-28.
Fitch was trying to work his way back to a welterweight title fight with a win over Penn who also was trying to make a run at the title. But the match went south for Penn in the last round as he was continually pummeled by Fitch.
Penn actually thought he lost the match but it did end with a majority draw. Fitch improves his record to 13-1-1 in the UFC and 23-3-1 overall in MMA matches professionally. Penn goes to 16-7-2 for his career.
The next path for these two will be more determined once Georges St. Pierre fights against Jake Shields. St. Pierre has been rumored to be in talks on a superfight with Anderson Silva if he beats Shields.
