(Media-Newswire.com) - Women as mystery, as shadow, as goddess, and as individual, will be the subject of the upcoming exhibit at College of the Atlantic's Ethel H. Blum Gallery. The show, Duality represents the senior projects of two COA women, Grace Cherubino and Aishath Loofa Mohamed. It will be on display from May 16 to 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an opening from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17. Hors d'oeuvres and live music will accompany the opening. Cherubino is exhibiting oil portraits of women in the COA community. Mohamed's work consists of black and white photographs depicting aspects of the shadow in women, referring to the rejected side of one's self.
The images Mohamed created augment a book she wrote about the process of learning to appreciate the shadow so as to become more of a whole being. The exhibit for both students is the culmination of four years of study and artwork at COA. For information contact cclinger@coa.edu, 207-288-5105 or 207-801-5733. Free
